Take-home
About this salary calculator
Gross to net here is a percentage split you control: tax % and employee social charges % both apply to gross, then net is what remains. Reverse mode asks what gross you need for a take-home target.
It is not a payslip and not tax advice. Brackets, allowances, employer contributions, benefits in kind and a 13th month are omitted. Annual figures use 12 months. No currency symbol — 3,000 works in euros, reais, rupiah or anything else.
Gross and net
Both rates apply to gross, independently:
Net = gross × (1 − tax ÷ 100 − social ÷ 100).
Gross = net ÷ (1 − tax ÷ 100 − social ÷ 100).
Example: 3,000 gross at 20% tax and 10% social → tax 600, social 300, net 2,100. The same net at those rates needs 3,000 gross. Annual net is monthly × 12.
Gross = net ÷ (1 − tax% − social%)
How to calculate net pay
- Choose a direction: Gross to net if you have the headline salary. Net to gross if you know take-home and need the offer number.
- Enter amount and two rates: Monthly or annual, plus tax % and employee social %. Currency does not matter.
- Read net, tax and social: The split and the other period (×12) update as you type.
Frequently asked questions
How do you get net from gross?
Subtract both percentages of gross: net = gross × (1 − tax − social). 3,000 at 20% and 10% is 2,100 net.
Do tax and social both apply to gross?
Yes, independently, like two VAT-style rates. Some countries tax the amount after social charges; type a combined rate if that is how your slip works.
Are employer contributions included?
No. This is the employee side only. Employer social is usually on top of gross and does not change take-home.
Is this official income tax?
No. You enter the rates. There is no IRPF, IRS, PAS, PPh 21 or НДФЛ table, and no 13th month. Confirm with a payroll tool or adviser. This page is not tax advice.
