About this QR code generator
A QR code is a square of black and white modules that a phone camera can read. Paste a web address or any short text; the picture is built here, in your browser. It is not sent to a server.
The default error-correction level is M (about 15%). That is enough for a screen or a clean print. Use H if the code will sit on a poster, get dirty, or have a small logo in the middle — the grid gets denser, so less text fits.
Version is the grid size: version 1 is 21×21 modules, each step adds four. A short URL stays on a small grid. Download a larger PNG if you will print; stretching a tiny screenshot makes it harder to scan.
Which error-correction level
Higher levels survive scratches and poor light, but they use more of the grid for spare data, so the same text needs a bigger code.

How to make a QR code
- Paste the URL or text: A web address is the usual case. Plain text works too. Keep it short if you can.
- Pick error correction and size: M is a solid default. Raise the PNG size before you print.

Frequently asked questions
Is the QR code uploaded or stored?
No. The grid is drawn in your browser. Close the tab and it is gone. There is no account and no server copy.
What can I put in a QR code?
A URL is the usual case. Any short text works: a phone number, an email address, or a Wi-Fi string such as WIFI:S:Network;T:WPA;P:secret;; — this page does not build that string for you, it only encodes what you paste.
Why does a higher error-correction level make a denser code?
Spare modules store extra copies of the data so a damaged print can still scan. Those modules take room, so the same text needs a larger version. M is enough for a clean screen; H is for posters and wear.
How large should I print it?
For a sticker or a business card, a couple of centimetres is enough if the URL is short. For a wall poster, use a bigger PNG (the size slider) rather than stretching a small file. Leave a white margin around the square — the quiet zone.
