About this Lorem ipsum generator
Lorem ipsum is dummy Latin you drop into a layout before the real copy is ready. The words look like a European language, so you can judge type size, line length and spacing without reading the content and getting stuck on the wording.
This page makes as many paragraphs, sentences or words as you ask. Tick the classic opening if you want the familiar “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…” at the start; leave it off for a random block. Wrap in HTML <p> tags when you are pasting into a mockup.
The original passage is a scrambled bit of Cicero, used by typesetters since the 1500s. Here it is only filler. Generation runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

- Set how many: Three paragraphs is a typical article block. Tick the classic opening if you want the familiar first sentence.

What is Lorem ipsum?
It is placeholder Latin used in design and typesetting so a page can be judged without real copy. The standard opening is “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit…”. The words are scrambled from a Cicero text; they are not meant to be read as a message.
Why not use real sentences?
Real English (or Spanish, French…) pulls the eye to the meaning. Reviewers start editing the wording instead of looking at type, spacing and hierarchy. Dummy Latin has a similar mix of short and long words, but nobody tries to “fix” it.
Does it always start with “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet”?
Only if you leave that box ticked. Untick it and the first sentence is a random draw from the same word list. The classic opening is useful when a client expects the familiar filler.
