When you need a pressure converter
Tire gauges are often in psi or bar. Weather and blood pressure still use mmHg. Type the number from the gauge and pick the unit. The table shows Pa, kPa, bar, atm, psi, mmHg and torr.
One bar is almost one atmosphere (1.01325 bar = 1 atm). Car tires in Europe are often 2.2–2.5 bar; in the US that is about 32–36 psi.
Nothing is sent to a server. There is no Calculate button.

Frequently asked questions
How many psi is 1 bar?
About 14.5 psi. Times bar by 14.5. 2.4 bar is about 35 psi — a common car-tire range.
Is 1 atm the same as 1 bar?
Almost, not exactly. 1 atm is 101,325 Pa, or 1.01325 bar. For tires and boilers people round it to 1 bar ≈ 1 atm.
Are torr and mmHg the same?
For everyday use, yes. 1 torr = 1/760 atm, and 1 mmHg is treated the same. Weather still talks in mmHg; vacuum pumps talk in torr.
What pressure unit should I use for tires?
In Europe, bar — often 2.2–2.5 on a car. In the US, psi — about 32–36. This page converts both. Do not mix them on the gauge.
